Coordinators

Coordinators are volunteer positions held the entire season and assigned by the Board.  By volunteering for these positions, a families' volunteer commitment is fulfilled for the entire season.  Please contact the board if you are interested in any of these positions.

**New families are not eligible for a coordinator position.

Starter/Announcer

At home meets only, the starter is required to announce the event number and heat number at the beginning of each race, as well as general announcements when necessary.  Will use the starter equipment to give swimmers and timers the signal to start the race.  Is responsible for charging false starts when applicable.

Console Operators

These 2 volunteers will operate the Dolphin Wireless console and Meet Manager software on the team computer during each meet.  They will receive timing sheets from the runner and score the meet using the software. 

**Must attend a WHALe certification session.

Equipment Managers

Responsible for all swim meet equipment for home and away meets, such as ez-up tents, tarps, trash bags, and banners.  Oversees all set-up and take-down.  Ensures that the pool is back to pre-meet conditions. Assists with traffic and parking locations during home meets.  Sets out cones for visiting coaches and board members during home meets.

Head Timer

Assigns timers to lanes and conducts timer training (equipment use and review). Will be responsible for ensuring that the times from the wireless timers are reported correctly on the computer and that digital timers are functioning properly. Will also serve as backup timer, starting 2 digital timers for each heat and organize relief for lane timer breaks as needed.  Will be responsible for taking all digital timers to away meets and that timers are in working condition.

**Must attend a WHALe certification session.

Meet Director/Referee

Ensures all Stroke and Touch Turn Judges, and Starter hold current WHALe certifications.  Holds a meeting before the meet begins with all judges, timers and coaches to review meet procedures. Assists judges during meets.  Is responsible for all judges and starter equipment, such as flags and vests.

Ready Bench Coordinator

Coordinates with Ready Bench Parents and Bench Bosses to ensure that all swimmers are lined up correctly and are on time and provides breaks. Meets with parent volunteers prior to swim meet to answer any ready bench and bench boss related questions.
