2021 WHALe Certification Requirements
Welcome to the WHALe Training Academy
Please Note: All certification training will be open for enrollment from April 15, 2021 until May 15, 2021. Any training incomplete after the closing date will not obtain a certification in 2021. All course enrollees are able to revisit the training material at any time during the season, but the enrollment certification period for officials will close on May 15th.
Note that Athlete Protection Training, which is a requirement for all volunteers, will remain open for the duration of the season.

Athlete Protection Training ***New for the 2021 Swim Season***
All adult (anyone over age 17) volunteers are required to complete required Athlete Protection Training. This applies to any adult who will be acting in the capacity of a volunteer for a WHALe team at practice or at meets that will be directly interacting with athletes. Examples of such volunteer roles include but are not limited to: timers, ready bench leaders, meet officials, concession stand workers, practice attendance takers, etc. It is highly recommended that all parent/guardians of WHALe athletes take this course.
Console Operator Training
Stroke/Turn Judge Training
Stroke/Turn judges and officials will train to identify stroke, touch, and turn infractions. This requires an annual certification. The 2021 certification will only be valid during the 2021 season. In order to obtain the 2021 certification, the following course must be completed:

Starter/Referee Official Training
Starter and Referees will train to effectively run and officiate the meet. This requires an annual certification. The 2021 certification will only be valid during the 2021 season. In order to obtain the 2021 certification, the following course must be completed:
